Winter Games 2019, sponsored by the Illinois River Basin Boaters Association (IRBBA), takes place Feb. 22-24. Members from boat clubs up and down the river are invited to this weekend-long gathering, where clubs compete to decorate hospitality suites and costume themselves guided by this year’s theme, “Beaches.”
On Saturday afternoon, each club enters a team to compete in the Winter Games, a variety of competitive events held in the hotel’s atrium.
The best part of Winter Games is meeting old friends and making new ones, comparing notes about boating life on the river and planning for spring.
This year’s venue is PARK INN by Radisson, 201 E. Ashland St., Morton, IL 309-263-5116. The full schedule is here.
A traditional Irish corned beef and cabbage dinner will be served from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday, March 9th. The price is $12.50 per person or one punch.
RSVP by March 3 on the sign-up sheet at the Club or by filling out the online RSVP form.
The March dinner is hosted by the Burgwalds and Billings.
Celebrate our history, past Commodores and the 85th anniversary of the founding of SRYC. Details to come.
