May Brings High Water … Again

When northern Illinois received nearly 8 inches of rain in four days, guess where all the water went? The Illinois river crested on Tuesday, May 19, within a foot of the all-time high water mark, as recorded on the Ottawa gauge. The river rose swiftly, to about 13 feet above its normal level.

Gas pump was moved to higher ground for safe keeping.

Spring Launch 2020

Saturday, May 9

This year’s spring launch was different. While in the past we have welcomed and appreciated everyone’s help on launch day, this year we kept the work crew as small as possible. Thank you for NOT helping and staying well away from the work area if you didn’t  have a specific assignment.

Members followed the Governor’s orders with regard to distancing and wearing masks.

Here are a few pics from another successful launch day.

April Updates

From the Commodore

  • The April meeting has been cancelled.
  • Spring launch has been moved from April 18 to Friday, May 1, but this is still a tentative date.
  • The clubhouse is locked and closed, per the Governor’s Stay at Home order.  Access to the laundry area and downstairs washrooms is open to members (with keycards/fobs.)
  • You may access the Club property to check on or work on your boat. If your boat is not stored onsite, you may bring it to your slip as weather permits. Please do not put any boats on B dock at this time, due to ongoing work there.
  • Please observe social distancing if others are on the property. Only members of your immediate household should be on your boat or closer than 6 feet.

We’re looking forward to the boating season more than ever this year. As you know, the situation is changing daily, and we depend on members to help keep themselves and others safe. Let’s be careful out there!

Our beautiful harbor. Patience!
