Ron Robb Special People Cruise – June 6, 2015

The Ron Robb Special People Cruise is an annual event hosted by SRYC Charities and the good folks at the Starved Rock Yacht Club. This free event provides individuals with special needs with recreational and educational opportunities.

The Special People Cruise takes place at Starved Rock Yacht Club along the Illinois River, adjacent to Starved Rock State Park.  Individuals of all ages are encouraged to attend regardless of their need level as we can accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. Some Highlights of the Cruise Include:

  • Boat rides along the Illinois River (life jackets provided)
  • Assortment of games, crafts, prizes and music
  • Illinois river ecology and natural resource educational activities
  • Complimentary lunch provided to all participants

SRYC Charities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization operating in Ottawa, Illinois and serving the Illinois River Valley.

All Hands! Boats In on Saturday

Boats go in this Saturday! The festivities start at 6:00am with a hot breakfast in the clubhouse. Lunch will also be served later in the day. There is a small chance that a few boats could be lifted in late Friday afternoon, depending on the arrival time of the crane. If you are one of the first in line, contact Craig for an update.
